The government of Kazakhstan entrusted to Kazaktelecom JSC and Sovereign Wealth Fund "Samruk-Kazyna" JSC to withdraw one of mobile providers from the structure of the enterprise till the end of 2023. The group of companies of Kazakhtelecom JSC includes Kcell JSC with brands Kcell and Activ.
Kcell mobile provider is the most probable candidate to be sold so that to raise competitiveness in the market of mobile communication. The complex structure of shareholders and availability of shares in free circulation can make the negotiation process difficult. Appearance of a new player in the market such as Freedom Telecom can make the transaction less attractive.
